President
SCT Global Education Solutions

As president of SCT Global Education Solutions, Rodney L. Everhart is responsible for leading the division in its delivery of software and professional services to the higher education market. Working in concert with the executive staff, Everhart will establish the vision, as well as the growth strategies for SCT Global Education Solutions.

Everhart was appointed president in January 1998. This marks his second affiliation with the company. From 1985 to 1989, he was vice president of Finance & Administration, treasurer, and chief financial officer for SCT.

Beginning in 1989, Everhart helped lead LEXIS-NEXIS (then Mead Data Central, Inc.), as its vice president, Financial Resources & Administration. An electronic publisher with a broad array of legal, news, and business information targeted to professional researchers and media specialists, LEXIS-NEXIS applied state-of-the-art programming and telecommunications technologies. Everhart was appointed president in 1992 and remained there until March 1995, following the completion of Mead's divestiture of LEXIS-NEXIS to Reed-Elsevier plc.

After leaving LEXIS-NEXIS, Everhart joined Bellcore (Bell Communications Research, Inc.) as senior vice president and chief financial officer, leading an organization responsible for the financial and administrative management of the company. He also directed the company's corporate communications and human resources functions. Prior to 1985, Everhart held positions of increasing financial management responsibility with General Electric Company over a period of 19 years.

Everhart serves on the Board of Overseers, as well as the National Steering Committee of the Council for Aid to Education (CAE). The CAE, a national nonprofit organization, works to enhance the effectiveness of corporate and other private-sector support in improving education at all levels, particularly higher education. He is also on the National Board of Advisors to Western Governors University, an online institution implemented with the mission and vision to share distance-learning resources, provide greater access to education delivered at a distance, and establish a competency-based learning model. Recent publications by Everhart include "Creating Virtual Communities" in Syllabus, April 1999, and "High Service Standards, High-Tech Solutions" in Community College Week, Spring 1999 Advertising Supplement on Technology.

Everhart has a BS in management from the University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana, and is a graduate of General Electric's Financial Management Program.
