Milton Campos

Milton Campos is assistant professor at the Department of Communication at the University of Montreal, Canada. He has been teaching and researching computer-mediated and media communication for more than 20 years. In addition, he has extensive working experience in software development, and in radio and television production with networks like the BBC. Campos holds a PhD in psychology, and an MS and a BA in communication by the University of S?o Paulo. Post-doctoral research was carried out at Simon Fraser University, in collaboration with the Canadian TeleLearning-Network of Centres of Excellence. Milton Campos coordinates the Inter@ctiva Research Project, which studies communicative interaction in hypermedia and multimedia systems. The project specifically focuses on the constitution, the implementation and the development of virtual communities, with a focus on the role that participants take, and on strategies for effective intervention and communicative interaction. Furthermore, Campos is working on the development of socio-cognitive communication theories, and on methods for the analysis of hypermedia and multimedia discourse.
