Consultant
Collaborative Learning Environment, Clemson University

Kathy Biggs works as a consultant for Clemson University's Collaborative Learning Environment (CLE) and teaches computer applications courses for Tri-County Technical College in Pendleton, SC. She has helped develop the CLE from its planning stages, which began about two and a half years ago. She has been involved in a CLE planning committee of developers, faculty, consultants, and students and contributed to its various testing stages, offering usability research reporting and user support during its full production.

For the past 15 years, in a variety of educational settings, Kathy has used a wide range of technologies to work with technology and education. She currently coordinates a comprehensive training program for faculty, provides technical support for users of the CLE, and coordinates a Macromedia Authorized Training curriculum that serves the university and its surrounding community. Through partnership with other groups on campus, the CLE provides training opportunities, special workshops, seminars to share teaching methods, and grant project support for faculty.

Kathy frequently makes presentations about the CLE to outside groups, sharing its technical aspects, as well as the online environment's implications for the classroom.
