Janna Siegel Robertson
Associate Professor of Special Education
University of Memphis

Janna Siegel Robertson has been educating teachers for more than 15 years. Since 1997, she has been at the University of Memphis, where she is a tenured associate professor. Previously, she was a tenured associate professor at Eastern New Mexico University. She received her PhD from the University of California, Los Angeles, her MS from Santa Clara University, and her BA from West Chester University.

Robertson has been involved with different aspects of educational technology for years. She is the director of the Mid-South Educational Software Clearinghouse and was formerly a co-director of the New Mexico Educational Clearinghouse. These clearinghouses provided educators with training in using educational software for instruction, how to evaluate educational software, and software preview opportunities. Robertson was also a co-founder of the Mid-South Access Center for Technology, which provides assistive technology services to individuals with disabilities. Robertson was involved with the teacher education portion of the organization for 3 years. Most of her workshops and classes have been Web-supported for the past 6 years. Robertson is now involved with developing and teaching online courses.

Robertson has published widely on a variety of subjects; many of her recent publications focus on the use of technology for individuals with disabilities. She is a member of Who's Who in Educational Technology. Her other interests include transition and inclusion of individuals with disabilities. Robertson is also a freelance artist whose most recent works include Web pages and a series of drawings depicting individuals with disabilities at school and work.
