Carolyn Kapinus
Ball State University

Carolyn Kapinus completed her PhD in sociology at the Pennsylvania State University. She received her MA in sociology at Texas Tech University and her BA in sociology and psychology at Centenary College of Louisiana.

Kapinus specializes in sociology of the family, sociology of gender, and social psychology. Her current research examines how parents influence their young adult children's attitudes toward divorce. Other research projects she is working on include investigating the factors associated with teenage contraceptive use, examining factors which predict self identification as a feminist, teaching with technology, examining the link between family life cycle stage and marital commitment, and exploring gender differences in marital commitment.
