Developed in the early 1990s as part of a study commissioned by the Department of Energy, the Minority On-Line Information Service (MOLIS) is a clearinghouse of information concerning institutions of higher education that are oriented towards students of racial and ethnic minorities. With the additional support of the Department of Defense and other governmental agencies, the system has expanded to provide a free, comprehensive research and institutional capabilities database covering over 220 Hispanic Serving Institutions, Historically Black Colleges and Universities, Predominantly Black Colleges and Universities, and Tribally Controlled Colleges and Universities. MOLIS also provides information on current educational, research and service programs, as well as profiles of faculty members at Minority Institutions.
The Website that is the home for MOLIS is useful not only as an entry point into this wealth of information, but as a comprehensive list of links to the institutional homepages for the member schools, as well as a source for minority funding opportunities related to higher education. The page contains links to research, grant, and employment opportunities from various governmental agencies as well as some private sources who are participating in the program.
To allow users to easily sort through the information contained in the database, the site houses a search engine that provides users with the ability to search for faculty and administration members (numbering over 29,000 at the time of publication) at the participating schools, with search criteria including name, department, institution, and keywords related to a particular individual's professional interests. There is also a search engine that allows users to search the database for information on enrollment and graduation rates by institution and/or by major.pc gamesdownloadable pc gamesbrick busterkids gamespuzzle games
